The City of Barrie is experiencing a significant amount of growth and development. With this growth comes the need for standards to help ensure effective infrastructure systems are built to serve the community for years to come. By accessing specializations and consulting expertise when improving and creating standards, the City will be able to better tackle complex infrastructure issues and develop solutions ensuring the infrastructure assets built within the City provide desired levels of service while balancing the risk and total costs to the Corporation. TIMELINE: A Request For Proposals has been issued by the owner. The intent of the RFP is to select one (1) qualified and licensed engineering consulting team (the Consultant) to assist the City with researching, developing, and updating transportation and Right-of-Way (ROW) infrastructure standards. Proponents shall have in depth knowledge and expertise in transportation and ROW infrastructure design in transportation networks similar to that of the City's with respect to size and scope. A strong technical background in standards development would be considered an asset.
