The project generally consists of the cleaning and structural lining of approximately 6,622 linear feet of the existing 12" water main along Old Georges Road and the removal and replacement of approximately 74 linear feet of 6" water main, 117 linear feet of 8" water main, 35 linear feet of 10" water main, and 402 linear feet of 12" water main. The project also consists of the removal, furnishing and installation of fire hydrant assemblies; the furnishing and installation of valves; furnishing and replacement of water services; paved roadway trench repair, right-of-way restoration and all associated work and appurtenances in accordance with the Contract Documents. Work on additional roadways may be ordered, if deemed necessary by the Township Mayor and Township Council. No refunds will be made except as provided in N.J.A.C. 40A:11-24b which allows for the return of documents in reasonable conditions within ninety (90) days of notice that the contract has NOT been awarded. Proposals in the Contract Documents must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder and the name of the work on the outside addressed to the Mayor and Township Council, Township of North Brunswick, and must be accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a Surety Company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey and acceptable to the Township. Each proposal must be submitted in writing on the proposal pages furnished in the Contract Documents; this entire document must be submitted at the time of bid without any conditional endorsement as a guarantee that in case the Contract is awarded to the Bidder, he will within twenty-one (21) days thereafter execute such contract and furnish satisfactorily performance bonds. Upon failure to do so he shall forfeit the deposit as liquidated damages and the acceptance of the Bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the Bidder. No interest shall be allowed upon any such certified check or cash. Each bid must be accompanied by a certificate of experience and certificate of equipment. Each Bid must also be accompanied by a certificate of Consent of Surety from a Bonding Company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey and named in the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds", U.S. Treasury Department, guaranteeing that if the proposal of the Bidder be accepted they will furnish the bond set forth in Paragraph One of the General Conditions of the Contract and the acceptance of the Bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement. The Township reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities specified in the manner designated in the Specifications. The Township reserves the right to award this Contract based on funds available. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the provisions of the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, Chapter 150
