The project generally consists of roadway excavation, pavement milling, the furnishing and installation of dense graded aggregate base course, hot mix asphalt base course, and hot mix asphalt surface course, including sweeping, tack coating, and other pavement preparation and related work. The project also includes the removal and replacement of curbs, sidewalks and driveway aprons, driveway restoration, storm drainage improvements, water main improvements and all other associated work and services in accordance with the Contract Documents. Work on additional roadways may be ordered, if deemed necessary by the Township Mayor and Township Council. No refunds will be made. Bid proposals in response to the Contract Documents must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the Bidder and the name of the work on the outside addressed to Mayor and Township Council, Township of North Brunswick and must be accompanied by a Statement of Consent of Surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey and named in the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds", U.S. Treasury Department, and acceptable to the Township. Upon failure to do so Bidder shall forfeit the Bid security as liquidated damages. Each Bid must also be accompanied by a certificate of consent of surety from a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of New Jersey and named in the current list of "Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds", U.S. Treasury Department, guaranteeing that if the proposal of the Bidder be accepted the surety will furnish the bond(s) required by the Bid Documents. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all Bids in accordance with applicable law. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with prevailing wage rate requirements in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.27 et seq. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with the antidiscrimination provisions of N.J.S.A. 10:2-1. During the performance of this contract the Contractor agrees to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., P.L. 1975, c.127 (N.J.A.C. 17:27), all requirements of the State of New Jersey Worker Health and Safety Act (N.J.A.C. 12:110 et seq.) as amended and the United States Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) (29 CFR 1910), as amended with regard to worker and jobsite safety. No Bidder may withdraw its Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. This project is partially funded by a grant from the "1984 Transportation Trust Fund Authority Act." Accordingly, the successful Bidder shall be required to perform the work in accordance with the contract documents and requirements of the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Award of this contract is subject to the approval of the New Jersey Department of Transportation. SPECIAL NOTICE Submission of Bids Sealed Bids may be sent through the US Postal Service or other recognized delivery service that provides certification of delivery to the sender Contractors may hand deliver their bids the morning. The names of the Bidders and their Bids will be announced via online live streaming which may be viewed by the general public and interested parties on the advertised Bid date and time.
