Closing Time: 2:30 PM (NT) Question Acceptance Deadline Aug 21, 2023 02:30 PM NDT Scope of Work/Overview: 1.Remove dead legs in the piping system that result in stagnate water in the system. 2.Reinsulate any exposed piping that results in hot piping losing its heat, and cold piping from absorbing heat so that temperature conditions do not become favourable for legionella bacteria growth. 3.Provide new hot water recirculation branches to branch lines longer than 10m from main lines and extend existing ones that are currently greater than 10m. 4.Replace existing globe style balancing valves with adjustable thermal balancing valves that are capable of high temperature bypass disinfection and provide this type of valve on any new recirculation system branches. 5.Provide backflow protection on cooling water feed to AC units. 6.Provide a chemical metering pump and solution tank at the water entrance to allow disinfecting chemical to be easily injected into the domestic piping system to allow for shock treatment should a bacteria event occur. 7.If hot work is being performed and building fire alarm needs to be shutdown, this work will have to done after hours. 8.All cutting, drilling and scanning will be the responsibility of the contractor. Bids submitted at $100,000 or greater shall include the following bid security ("Bid Security"): i. a bid bond in a commercially reasonable form or an irrevocable standby letter of credit issued by a financial institution authorized to conduct business in Canada as a Schedule I or Schedule II chartered bank in the amount of at least 10% of the Bid Price and that shall be in effect until forty-five (45) calendar days following Closing Date; and Official bid documents must be obtained from www.bgis.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
