The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, designated as Bid for Masonry Repointing/Repair - Crawford County Courthouse, enclosed in an outer envelope and addressed and delivered, or sent by mail, to Crawford County Clerk, John Martin, Crawford County Courthouse, 302 W. Main Street, Steelville, Missouri 65565. The project consists of masonry repointing and repair work to the complete exterior of the original brick building, along with all additions. All equipment, materials and workmanship shall be in accordance with all project drawings, detailed specifications and documents prepared by AEA-Stack Design Group. A complete set of the Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the offices of Crawford County Clerk, Crawford County Courthouse, 302 W. Main Street, Steelville, Missouri. Proposals shall be submitted on the blank forms bound in the contract documents or issued in any addendum and provided for that purpose. The Owner intends to award the contract to the most responsive, responsible bidder submitting the lowest bid. The Crawford County Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids considered by them to be materially unbalanced or non-responsive, and affirms their right to accept or reject any or all bids received, without limitation, and to waive or not to waive any or all irregularity, informality, or technicality in any bid, and to award the contract deemed by them to be in their best interest. The County of Crawford is an Equal Opportunity Employer and invites the submission of bids from minority and women-owned firms. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount must accompany each bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. As a condition of the Contract, the successful Bidder will be required to provide separate Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Amount. The Contractor shall pay not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages for work of a similar character in the locality in which the work is performed, as determined by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and as set out in the detailed plans and specifications. The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in the specifications. Upon signing the contract, the contractor and any subcontractor performing the work shall provide a ten-hour Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) construction safety program for their on-site employees which includes a course in construction safety and health approved by OSHA or a similar program approved by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations which is at least as stringent as an approved OSHA program. All employees are required to complete the program within sixty (60) days of beginning work on such construction project. Any employee found on the worksite without documentation of the successful completion of such a course shall be afforded twenty (20) days to produce such documentation before being subject to removal from the project. Payment for the work under this contract will be made in cash in accordance with the payment provisions stipulated in the contract. The contract contains a provision for liquidated damages. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Cost rages $100,000 to $125,000.
