The project generally consists of two main portions, the intersection between N. Downing St and S Belle Dr and the intersection between Dumars Dr. and Noreda St. From these two projects includes removing existing pavement and replacing with approximately 1070 L.F. of proposed 7" concrete pavement, removing and replacing approximately 110 S.Y. of proposed 6" thick concrete driveway and removing and replacing 240 S.F. of proposed 4" concrete sidewalk. For N. Downing St and S Belle Dr portion, the project also includes replacing 20 L.F. of both a 30" and 42" reinforced concrete pipe, approximately 10 L.F. of an 8" SDR 35 drainage pipe and connection to inlet, and the rehabilitation of an existing storm sewer with 1" Cementitious material, as well as removing and replacing 2 proposed sidewalks. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond in an amount not less than five percent of the largest possible total for the bid submitted as a guaranty of completion of the forms provided by the City within 10 days after notice of award. Bid sureties will be returned to all but the three lowest acceptable bidders within 24 hours after execution of the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all technicalities and accept any bid from the lowest responsible bidder. In case of ambiguity or lack of clarity in stating the prices in the bids, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, or to reject the bids. Unreasonable or "Unbalanced" unit prices will be sufficient cause for rejection of any kind. In conformance with applicable statutes, the general prevailing wage rates in the locality in which the work is to be performed have been ascertained and such rates shall be the minimum paid for labor employed upon this project. The deadline to submit questions regarding the project is Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 at 5:00 PM.
