The project is a stream restoration project located in Millbrook Exchange Park in Wake County. The channel had grade control structures installed in 2018, however due to lack of sediment supply and localized scour, the structures are now falling. This effort will stabilize these structures by installing additional fill left out of the previous design, while providing a floodplain bench to alleviate in channel stresses at higher flows. Furthermore, the City's goal is to contract or sub-contract fifteen percent (15%) of the contract amount to certified MWBEs on construction projects over $300,000, or with contracts that include $100,000 or more in state funding. Millbrook Exchange Park Stream Repairs Project Approximately 725 feet of stream and in-stream structure repair. Installation of 100 cubic yards of 50/50 mix Class A and Class B cobble material on to existing in stream structures. Off-site removal of approximately 1250 cubic yards of dirt. Repair of 11 Innovative Grade Control Structures along stream corridor. Planting and seeding of 0.96 acres of riparian buffer, including temporary and permanent seeding, and bare root trees. Procurement of an As-built survey along the alignment of the stream repair project.
