Road Commission for construction of the following 3 concrete box culverts: Location i: 401/2 Road East Culvert Removal and Replacement: 48 Lft of 10X 4' Concrete Box Culvert on 401/2 Road, over Mitchell Creek Location 2:40 1/2 Road West Culvert Removal and Replacement: 48 Lft of 10X 4' Concrete Box Culvert on 401/2 Road, over Mitchell Creek Location 3:31 Road Culvert Removal and Replacement: 48 Lft of 12'x 5' Concrete Box Culvert on 31 Road, over Mitchell Creek Tributary The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any part of the same, to waive irregularities and/or informalities and to make the award in part or entirety in any manner deemed to be in the best interest of the Wexford County Road Commission *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. Project Locations: Location 1: 40 1/2 Road East Culvert over Mitchell Creek, Cherry Grove Township, Section 8, Wexford County, Michigan. This crossing is located approximately 400' east of the 40 1/2 Road and 27 1/2 Road intersection. Description of Work: Note: High voltage power lines in vicinity of the work zone. The box culvert sections on the southern end are being produced in smaller (4 foot) segments to reduce weight and allowing the southern sections to be set by an excavator. A crane will still be required to set the northern segments. The work of this contract involves the removal and disposal of 3 - 30" CMP existing culverts and placement of 48 feet of 10' x 4'concrete box culvert at the location per the attached plans. The contractor will be responsible for all items of work listed in the Bid Proposal and shown in the plans, including dewatering, riprap, and restoration. The contractor will provide a plan to control the flow of water during construction of the box culvert. This dewatering plan must be approved by the Road Commission Engineer and the NFS prior to any construction on this project. The cost of dewatering to be included in the Lump Sum price of culvert replacement. The contractor will need to provide traffic control and may construct the structure part width while maintaining traffic or complete the project in less than 14 days of road closure time. If the contractor chooses to close the road it must be performed according to MMUTCD including Type 3 barricades and Road Closed to Through Traffic signs with advance warning at the nearest intersections and Type 3 barricades and road closed signs at the culvert location. Contractor responsible for proper signing and to maintain safe construction area at the location until the roadway is open to traffic. Soil borings for this location are included in the bid packet. Soil bores SB 3 and SB 4. WCRC has EGLE permit in file. Location 2: 40 1/2 Road West Culvert over Mitchell Creek, Cherry Grove Township, Section 8, Wexford County, Michigan. This crossing is located approximately 25' west of the 40 1/2 Road and 27 1/2 Road intersection. Description of Work: Note: High voltage power lines in vicinity of the work zone. Description of Work: The work of this contract involves the removal and disposal of 1- 36" and 1- 21" CMP existing culverts and placement of 48 feet of 12' x 5'concrete box culvert at the location per the attached plans. The contractor will be responsible for all items of work listed in the Bid Proposal and shown in the plans, including dewatering, riprap, and restoration. The contractor will provide a plan to control the flow of water during construction of the box culvert. This dewatering plan must be approved by the Road Commission Engineer and the NFS prior to any construction on this project. The cost of dewatering to be included in the Lump Sum price of culvert replacement. The contractor will need to provide traffic control and may construct the structure part width while maintaining traffic or complete the project in less than 14 days of road closure time.
