DESCRIPTION: The McHenry County Housing Authority is seeking proposals for a Structural Engineering firm for the purpose of providing architectural and engineering services in regard to the rehabilitation of a 3 bedroom home in Wonder Lake, IL. Services the successful Engineering consulting Firm will be expected to provide, including but are not limited to: Provide cost estimates, development of schematic, design development, permit submittal, construction documents. The selected firm shall be required to provide permit submittal drawings (as required) and proactively respond to plan check comments to ensure permit approvals in a timely manner; and to prepare construction documents sufficient to provide the level of detail necessary to communicate the project intent and constructability to obtain competitive bids through the Housing Authority's procurement process. Support before construction - Services before construction are to help Housing Authority review cost estimates to determine the feasibility of proceeding with rehabilitation of the property, and with requirements for bids, and providing the Housing Authority with the proper information to go out for bid if project is determined feasible. Support during construction - Services during construction may include timely professional services to support the Housing Authority in responding to Contractors, construction observation reports and review of change orders. Support after construction - Signing off on final payment for project. Proposers should feel free to include any other services not specified tht they deem necessary to achieve the goals of this RFP. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: Worker's Compensation Insurance will cover all employees and meet statutory limits in compliance with applicable state and federal laws. The coverage must also include Employer's Liability with minimum limits of $100,000 for each incident. Commercial General Liability -- $500,000.00 per occurrence and $1,000,000.00 in the aggregate Business Auto Liability -- $300,000.00 per occurrence, combined single limit for: bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability The McHenry County Housing Authority must be listed on the Insurance Certificate as additionally insured. **Please Note: All contractors and subcontractors are required to carry Workman's Compensation Insurance unless they are an independent contractor that has no other employees** Insurance certificate will be required of the successful bidder before contract documents will be signed. Amendments to bids will be on file at the Housing Authority office as well as posted on our website, with the specifications.
