The Contract Time is 120 calendar days. The Project consists of: Provide labor and material to replace the existing Kone MX10 gearless machine on the elevator; replace and install new Imperial 543 gearless machine, brake, and encoder. Install new drive to the existing Smartrise controller to be compatible with the new gearless machine. Install and program new software in Smartrise controller setting parameters as needed. Provide structural engineering survey for any modifications. Update schematics and drawings as required by code. Test for proper operation. As security for its Bid, each bidder shall provide with its Bid form a. a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the District, or b. cash, or c. a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the Beverly Hills Unified School District, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. This bid security shall be a guarantee that the Bidder shall, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the District for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid. In the event of failure to enter into said Contract or provide the necessary documents, said security will be forfeited. Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total Contract amount, are required, and shall be provided to the District prior to execution of the Contract and shall be in the form set forth in the Contract Documents. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received. If the District awards the Contract, the security of unsuccessful bidder(s) shall be returned within sixty (60) days from the time the award is made. Unless otherwise required by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening.
