The Complexity Factor for this project is 0. This project requires 25% DBE participation, or if the contract goal is not met, documented evidence of good faith efforts. The Consultant who is selected for this project and all Subconsultants the Prime Consultant will be using are scheduled to attend an initial meeting on November 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Region One/District One Office in Schaumburg. Phase III engineering services are required to provide replacement of the deteriorated structure carrying Oakton Street over I-94 (Edens Expressway). Work includes, but not limited to, bridge reconstructed to accommodate a future widening of I-94 and increased vertical clearance raised to 16'5". Pedestrian and bicycle accommodations will be provided across the replacement structure along Oakton Street. Resurfacing will also include the intersection East of the bridge with HMA. The existing traffic signals at Oakton Street/Gross Point Road/Central Avenue will be upgraded along with the addition of an eastbound right turn lane. The underpass lighting will be upgraded to LED lighting. There is existing intersection lighting at Oakton Street/Gross Point Road that will be replaced with combo traffic signal poles. Also, the stairs near Niles West High School will be reconstructed and several PACE bus pads will be constructed within the project limits. Any and all incidental work to complete the improvement.
