The County of Santa Barbara Behavioral Wellness (BWell) seeks a contractor to design, and install top and bottom door alarms to mitigate suicide attempts for patients at the BWell Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF). All material must be new and unused. Warranty and postpurchase service terms. Provide minimum of 1-year warranty. Provide annual contract for the service, materials, and maintenance of alarm system. o 13 (thirteen) Door Alarms and materials: o Inclusive of 11 (eleven) bedrooms, 1 (one) veranda, and 1 (one) comfort room. o Each patient room door to have an anti-ligature active alarm sensor installed across the top bar and bottom o Alarm must alert PHF staff if someone is preparing to attempt to die by suicide by hanging o Install strobe or fixed light at each hallway door site o Install ligature-resistant hinges o Install alarm deactivation at the point of incident for each doorway o Install electrical and data capability from each door to the display boxes o 4 (four) Bathroom Door Alarms and materials: o Retrofit each bathroom door frame to have an anti-ligature active alarm sensor installed across the top bar and bottom o Install ligature-resistant hinges o Install alarm deactivation at the point of incident for each doorway o Install strobe or fixed light at each bathroom door site o 1 (one) Display Box at Nursing Station: o Add door alarm display box at staff nursing station o Alarm to visually and audibly immediately notify staff of which specific room is tampering with the door and door jam o Alarm notifications to be delivered in-real-time to nursing station o Alarm to record time and history of events o Alarm testing available without disturbing patients o Control panel to be easily used by staff and remotely accessed for diagnostics o Add electrical and data capability This project takes place on the 1 st (first) floor. All items are to be installed as anti-ligature including strobes lights, power boxes, display boxes. Have color and finishes for all materials (including hinges) approved via county letterhead confirmation by the facilities' on-site project manager to ensure program needs are met. Current measurements of the doors are 46 x 80 for patient rooms, comfort room, and veranda, and 32 x 79 for bathrooms. Vendors are required to attend the Job Walk. Refer to Section 2.4 for details. Provide initial training for key PHF and Facilities staff upon completion of installation. Awarded vendors must complete all work and invoice the project no later than Friday, December 1, 2023.
