WARREN STREET MILL AND OVERLAY (9th STREET TO 14th STREET) AND WORK INCIDENTAL THERETO IN AND FOR THE CITY OF DAVENPORT, IOWA Liquidated Damages - Liquidated damages shall be $1,000 per day Working Days -T he Contractor shall complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment for the bid by November 15, 2023. For all bids over $100,000, the City of Davenport requires a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount. A copy of the front page of the bid bond must be attached in the Response Attachments tab of the bid package. Bids over $100,000, submitted without a bid bond will not be considered. For awarded bids over $100,000, the awarded contractor will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount, and said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and irregularities, if it is deemed in the public interest to do so The work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the mill & overlay of Warren Street including but not limited to survey, subgrade, PCC pavement patching, PCC driveway approaches, PCC sidewalk, ADA landing & ramp improvements as well as erosion control with stabilization. The quantities herein represent the Engineer's estimate of the amount of work to be completed. Actual recorded quantities may vary from bid quantities. The contract time shall be per SUDAS Section 1080-1.02, A.3.a, Specified Start Date. The contract site is not currently available. It is anticipated that the contract will be approved, and the Notice to Proceed will be issued when the site becomes available. The specified start date set by the Notice to Proceed shall be notified to the awarded contractor by the City of Davenport. Communication between contractor & the City will be mandatory to maintain progress on the site to meet the completion date. All work shall be completed, including final cleanup and removal of all equipment by November 15, 2023. The Contractor shall be required to be working onsite with a full crew for a full day making progress on the project. The Contractor shall be required to submit a detailed critical path schedule to the City no later than 5 business days before the preconstruction conference. The Contractor shall not be allowed to begin construction activities until the critical path schedule has been approved by the Engineer. The contractor shall be required to work onsite with a full crew making progress on the project. If, in the sole opinion of the Engineer, the Contractor is not working onsite with a full crew or is not attempting to make progress on the project, the contractor shall pay the City liquidated damages at $1000 per day at the discretion of the Project Manager.
