PWA's Maintenance and Operations Department (PWA-M&O) is responsible for maintaining various electrical facilities and systems which are used for the control of traffic throughout the County. This includes traffic signals, highway and sign lighting, traffic count stations, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), streetlights and other related traffic control devices. PWA-M&O is required to ensure that these electrical systems are reliable and functioning properly at all times. To sufficiently maintain the systems and equipment, PWA-M&O requires a contractor who is capable of providing specific traffic signals and streetlight materials on an as needed basis. It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe traffic signals and streetlight materials being requested by the Alameda County Public Works Agency (PWA). The County intends to award a three-year contract (with the option to renew for two years) to the Bidder selected as the lowest responsive and responsible Bidders whose response meets the County's requirements.
