The San Diego Housing Commission (hereinafter referred to as the "COMMISSION") was created in 1979 by City Council Ordinance No. 12515 to act as a Housing COMMISSION pursuant to the Housing Authority Law of the State of California. The COMMISSION is responsible for development of affordable housing, implementation of financing to promote affordable housing, management of publicly-owned or assisted housing developments, operation of rent subsidy programs, rehabilitation of existing housing stock and advising the Housing Authority with respect to housing matters for the City of San Diego. The Housing COMMISSION staff is culturally diverse and provides bilingual services in several languages to the clients served. A seven-member COMMISSION appointed by the City Council sets policy for the staff. Illustrated below are the core program activities that will generate the majority of work to be performed: The San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) is soliciting proposals from businesses (hereinafter referred to as CONTRACTOR(s)) to provide Janitorial & Day Porter Services. A summary of work is contained in the Specifications/Scope of Services section of this Request for Proposals. Interested and qualified firms including disadvantaged and women owned small businesses are invited to submit a proposal. The term of the contract shall be a one (1) year period with the option to renew for four (4) additional one- (1) year period at a negotiated rate not to exceed the base price of the contract as indicated in the attached Project Type RFP (Request for Proposal) Response Types Line Items, General Attachment Type of Award Lump Sum Question Deadline 08/17/2023 at 10:00 AM PT The attention of proposers is directed to the fact that the proposed work will be financed in whole or in part with Federal Funds and, therefore, all applicable Federal Statutes, Rulings and Regulations will apply to such work.
