Reference Number 0000253407 Scope of Work It is the Intent of This Contract That the Company Shall Supply All Labour, Material and Equipment to Complete Mobilized Flash Butt Welding of Streetcar Rails at Various Ttc Properties and Its Right- of-ways. The Work Shall Be on an Annual Scheduled Basis. The Work Shall Include the Following Items: Production, With a Mobile Electric Flash Butt Welding Plant, of a Total of Approximately 2000 Welds to Create Out-of-track, Continuous Welded Rail During the Three Year Contract Period. All Welds Are to Meet American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-way Association (Arema) Specifications and Requirements, as Outlined in Section 10.5 of This Specification. Work Shall Be Completed at Various Locations on City of Toronto Roads Associated With Ttc Streetcar Right-of-ways or on Ttc Property. Furnishing a Mobile Welding Plant, Consisting of a Self-contained Vehicle and Welder Suspended From an Extendable Boom With Integral Hoist, Diesel Driven Generator Set, Weld Shear, and Winch to Pull Rail. Must Have Portable Plant/unit or "a Frame" Type Welding Unit's Capability to Be Used in Areas Where Space is Limited. Prearranged Meeting Will Dictate When the "a Frame" Will Be Used. Welding Unit is to Have an 85 Milimetre Stroke and the Welder Head Must Be Able to Generate a Total Upset Pressure of 72 Tons. Multiple Annual Mobilizations to Toronto of the Welder, Equipment and Labour Including Set-up. Relocation, Breakdown, Transportation and Set-up at Different Ttc Job Sites (Within Toronto) During a Mobilization. Multiple Annual Demobilizations of the Welder. Customs Duties, Work Permits, Brokerage Fees Will Be Paid by the Company. The Company is Responsible to Ensure Its Workers and Equipment Meet Canadian Border Customs Entry Requirements. Welding Will Be Required on an Ongoing Basis to Complete the Approximate Number of Welds. Shift Hours Can Vary From 8 Hours Minimum to 12 Hours Maximum and Generally Welding is Not Done on Weekends. The TTC's right to accept or reject any or all Bids or to accept a Bid including the lowest price Bid, whether or not it complies with the Bid Documents, or to cancel this RFB at any time prior to the Notification of Award is expressly reserved without liability to the TTC.
