Bids shall be on a unit price basis for the Base Bid. The purpose of the project is to repair and improve a liquid-phase odor control system used for the sanitary sewer system in the Riss Lake development. The work generally includes: o Demolition of fencing and slab concrete. o Rebuilding an electrical service entrance rack and laying conduit and wire for feeder circuits. o Laying new PVC conduits and flexible tubing for chemical feed service, and laying PVC piping for a tank fill line. o Grading and excavation, and placing surfacing gravel. o Constructing a concrete retaining wall around an existing tank slab. o Filling an old buried tank with flow-able fill. o Constructing wood fence and wood stairs. o Other related work including traffic signage and surface restoration. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond issued by a corporate surety qualified to do business in the State of Missouri, accompanied by a certified copy of a Power of Attorney attesting to his or her authority to sign Bonds and conduct business in the State of Missouri, or a certified cashier's check on an acceptable bank, made payable, without condition, to the City in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total Bid. Payment, Performance, and Maintenance Bonds are required for this Project. In case of failure on the part of the Contractor to effect completion within the time specified, the City shall have the right to assess against the Contractor as liquidated damages, fixed and agreed to in advance, in the amount stated in the Contract for each of the 24- hour calendar day, including Sundays and holidays. The daily rate for Liquidated Damages for this project is set forth in the Agreement. The City reserves the right to reject the Bid of any Bidder who does not pass any such evaluation to the City's satisfaction. complete all work within 60 days of the NOTICE TO PROCEED a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the full amount of the Contract Price
