Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for an Iowa licensed electrical contractor to provide all materials, labor and equipment necessary for removal and replacement of the existing electrical system at the IDOT Malcom Maintenance Facility as per plans/specifications attached in this solicitation. Project includes removal and replacement of existing electrical power panels, ATS, generator system and wiring as well as removal and disposal of existing items off site and keeping the existing in operation until changeover. Training: Contractor will provide training and demonstration for exercising equipment and maintenance (see Attribute #13) DOT is seeking an Iowa licensed electrician for completion of this project. This is project is exempt from state sales tax Site Visit: In the event a contractor wishes to set up a site visit please contact Teri Schulz via email at teri.schulz@iowadot.us. with a date and time of when you want a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit. Site visits will be scheduled in advance between August 1-18, 2023, between Monday - Thursday, the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Fridays hours are 7:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m. Recommended Pre-bid Meeting is set up for Contractors to join in via the Microsoft teams link or you can call the phone number and enter the conference ID followed by the # sign to join.
