The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting bids from qualified contractors build improvements to the parking lot of Public Safety Building 8-2 located at 19151 West Four Dogs Court along West Lakes Boulevard in Big Lake, Alaska. See the Bid Document for detail. Questions Due Date: Aug 10th, 2023, 5:00 PM AKDT The estimated project construction cost is approximately $110,000. The Matanuska-Susitna Borough (MSB) proposes making improvements to the parking lot of Public Safety Building 8-2 located at 19151 West Four Dogs Court along West Lakes Boulevard in Big Lake, Alaska. The improvements are needed to ensure the longevity of the parking lot with minimal upkeep, provide a high contrast for parking lot pavement markings and increase the quality of parking for employees and the public. All necessary permits will be obtained by the MSB for this project, unless otherwise specified in the project documents. All construction shall be completed in accordance with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Standard Specifications for Highway Construction (SSHC) 2017 Edition as modified by the MSB standard modifications and project specific special provisions are provided in the following sections. The requirements contained in these specifications and special provisions are hereby made a part of this solicitation and resultant contract. Public Safety Build 8-2 is owned and managed by the MSB and utilized for emergency fire services. The parking lot also serves the Helms Training Tower facility on the north side of the project area. The project site can be accessed via Beaver Lake Road to Lakes Boulevard to Four Dog Court from Big Lake Road off of the Parks Highway. See project location and vicinity maps in the plans.
