The Forest Grove School District is requesting Proposals from qualified firms interested in providing and installing Playground Equipment for the Forest Grove School District Bond Projects. Services needed must include pre-Construction services and Construction Services through the closeout and warranty phase of the project. Experience with similar K-12 public school environments is highly preferred. The successful firm will coordinate with the Forest Grove School District, Owner's Representative (Cornerstone Management Group), the Project Architects and their Engineers, and other District hired consultants and contractors as necessary. The District reserves the right to select and negotiate all or only certain services as provided by the successful firm. Brevity and clarity are appreciated. Top candidates will be invited to an interview. The District reserves the right to (1) reject any or all proposals; (2) waive any informalities or irregularities; and (3) select a firm which appears to be in the best interest of the District. Construction Budgets will be developed and negotiated between the successfully awarded Playground Equipment Contractor and the Forest Grove School District. Specific Project Schedule dates will be developed between the successfully awarded Playground Equipment Contractor and the Forest Grove School District. Project related planning, designing, and installation services for Bond Playground Equipment and surfacing of project sites as assigned. Evaluation services will include, but are not limited to: 1.1 The district intends to utilize the Bond Play Equipment Contractor (Contractor) for: 1.1.a - Site Investigation: . Verify and follow project scopes and priorities with District's personnel. . Review existing site conditions for each project, including any existing playground equipment, and hard surface play areas. . Walk project sites with FGSD staff to discuss options for play equipment that meet the district goals for play, inclusion, and safety. . Review existing conditions related to site grading, and site utilities as they may relate to the Playground Equipment and Surfacing scope of work for each project. 1.1.b - Project Design and Cost Proposal Documents . Functioning as the Bond Playground Equipment Contractor, the successful Contractor will work directly with FGSD staff to design options for Playground Equipment and Surfacing that will meet the district needs. . Coordinate Play Equipment foundations as required with FGSD, project architect (if applicable), and onsite contractors. . Options for different equipment will be provided based on district requests, with suggestions also based on the Contractor's experience on other similar projects. . The Contractor will provide cost proposals on a site-by-site basis, and work with FGSD to design Bond Playground Equipment plans that meet the Bond Budgets established by the district . If needed, the Contractor will work with the district on Cost Savings ideas in order to design and install a plan that falls within the allotted Budget. 1.1.c - Equipment and Surfacing procurement . After the scope of work and cost have been agreed to, FGSD will issue and Contract for the project to the Bond Playground Equipment Contractor. The Contractor will order equipment and surfacing as needed to receive materials and parts as needed to meet the agreed upon schedule . Updates on orders and delivery times will be provided to FGSD on a Monthly basis at a minimum to ensure the project is kept on schedule for installation and completion 1.1.d - Construction . Follow safety protocols as established by FGSD or the onsite General Contractor if there is another Bond Construction Project taking place at the project site . Attend and participate in progress meetings as requested by FGSD . Install Playground Equipment and Surfacing as indicated by the project scope of work documents including, but not limited to: o Contractor's Contracted scope of work and design documents o Any relevant Architect design drawings if there is another Bond Project taking place at the Project Site o Comply with all manufacturer's requirements for installation, including quality and safety guidelines to ensure a fully compliant installation of play equipment and surfacing o Design, layout and install Playground Surfacing to ensure that full tiles are installed, and cut play area tiles that are compromised are not used at the edge of the play area. If any cut tiles are to be used, review and confirm any locations with FGSD and the project team before installation. 1.1.e - Close-out Period . Submit all documentation as required for Close-out of the project including, but not limited to: o As-Built Drawings o Operation and Maintenance Manuals o Warranties o Release of Liens o Training o Final Completion Certificate confirming with FGSD that all punchlist items have been addressed and taken care of o Additional stock if requested by FGSD (ie. Additional Play Tiles)
