Please note that there will be no in-person opening of the bids and all bids must be submitted by 10:00 a.m. on the designated day of the bid opening to the City Clerk's Office, 78 Bayard Street, New Brunswick NJ 08901. Each bidder is required to bid each item on a fixed unit price basis, which will be maintained throughout the contract. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond payable to the City Treasurer of the City of New Brunswick, as a guarantee that if the contract is awarded to the bidder, the bidder will enter into a contract therefore. The amount so deposited shall be ten percent (10%) of the bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00. N.J.S.A. 40A11-14, provides that the Governing Body of any municipality may provide the form and manner of approval of all guarantee, indemnity, fidelity or other bonds required. Bidders must comply with P.L.1963 Chapter 150 (Prevailing Wage), P.L.1975 Chapter 127, N.J.A.C. 17:27, N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., P.L. 1977 Chapter 33 and with P.L. 1999 Chapter 238. In addition, all bidders must comply with the Public Works Contractor Registration Act - N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq., when applicable and comply with the Contractor Responsibility Certification and respond to the Disclosure of Investment Activities in Iran form. According to 40A:11-23, the City is prohibited from receiving bids on Mondays or any day directly following a State or Federal Holiday. The City Council of the City of New Brunswick reserves the right to reject any and all bids if in its opinion it is in the best interest so to do.
