Per Addendum 2- Bid date extended The City of Charleston is seeking the services of a qualified Contractor for a Construction Manager At-Risk (CMAR) contract for the Low Battery Seawall Rehabilitation Project - Phase IV. Engineering and Design Services for the Project will be performed by Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson (JMT). The CMAR Contractor will collaborate with the Design Team during the Pre-Construction Phase to facilitate constructability, cost control, scope management, temporary works planning and design, and other project elements as fully described in the scope of services. Construction of Phase III is currently underway and is scheduled to be completed in October 2023. Phase IV of the Low Battery Restoration Project extends along Murray Boulevard and East Battery Street, between the end of Phase III and the intersection of South Battery Street in the City of Charleston, SC. In conjunction with the rehabilitation of the wall, the existing roadway and storm drainage system will be also replaced. An investigation and repair procedure will also be included for the High Battery Seawall from the Turn to South Battery. The CMAR Contractor will collaborate with the Design Team throughout the Pre-Construction Phase and provide input to the design pertaining to constructability, means and methods, sequencing, temporary works, cost and schedule to prepare for successful execution of the construction of this Project. The Design Team and the CMAR Contractor will prepare final, coordinated Construction Documents that detail the proposed Project. The Contractor should have the ability to meet Minority & Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) criteria established by the City. Questions are to be submitted in writing no later than 3:00pm on August 16, 2023 to robinsonr@charleston-sc.gov.
