The City of Cumming (Owner) is requesting Proposals for the construction of the City of Cumming - Bethelview Downs Utility Improvements project.The overall project is comprised of the two individual projects. The Owner will only award a single contract to one contractor for both projects. Bethelview Downs Gravity Relief Sewer: Consists of an extension of approximately 1,600 linear feet of 14-inch gravity sewer line to provide sewer service to the area east of Bethelview Road. Bethelview Downs Phase 2 Water Main Extension: Consists of an extension of approximately 460 linear feet 12-inch water line to loop water service between an existing subdivision and a future subdivision that will be developed by others. Both projects shall include furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, and any appurtenances as necessary for completion of the work described within these plans and specifications. The Project has an expected duration of 365 days. Make checks payable to City of Cumming and mail to 100 Main Street, Cumming, Georgia 30040. Please include the project name, contact person, phone number, and email address.Questions are due by 5:00 pm August 10th 2023. Contractor questions should be directed to Christa Hopkins email chopkins@cummingutilities.com. A satisfactory Proposal Bond (in the amount of 5% of the Proposal), executed by the Proposer, and an acceptable surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, will accompany each Proposal. In lieu of a Proposal Bond, the City will accept a cashier's check, certified check, or cash deposit in an amount equal to at least 5% of the total contract amount. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals or to waive any informality in the proposal, to evaluate Proposals, and to accept any Proposal, which in his opinion, may be for his best interest. The successful Proposer for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, with a corporate surety approved by the OWNER and listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, each in the amount of 100% of the Proposal. An Irrevocable Letter of Credit from a local, Forsyth County bank is acceptable in lieu of Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond. Instructions to Proposers: For all further requirements regarding proposal submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Proposers that are included in the Proposal Documents.
