Manistee County is requesting quotation for the installation and termination of indoor and underground single mode fiber optic cable and rack mounted fiber trays. Please submit questions and quotations to Gordon McLellan via email using the address above. September 19th: County Board will make decision to accept a proposal. Pending board approval, a purchase order will be sent before the end of September. August 14th 4:30 pm: Letter of intent due from vendors intending to bid on project. August 4st 10:00 am: Initial questions due, schedule site visits between Aug 7 and Aug 11 Fiber Cabling: Manistee County is requesting installation of 12 strand single mode plenum rated armored cable running from the MDF (data center) located on the ground floor, to each of four IDF locations that are part of the Courthouse and Government Center complex. A secondary objective of this project is a multi-strand single mode direct burial rated armored cable from the 415 3rd St location and into the Planning Building equipment room, at 395 3rd St. Manistee County will defer to the vendor’s preferred cable type and strand quantity for crossing between buildings. A service loop of at least 20 feet should be included at both ends of all cable runs. All cable installed in the ceiling areas should be supported by J-hooks or other existing available support structures. Fiber cabling jackets should be labeled in the MDF as to which IDF that cable runs to. The existing fiber infrastructure shall be abandoned in-place, except in areas where removal will facilitate installation of new cabling. Most work can be performed during business hours, except for concrete drilling. Drilling of walls / floors will need to be coordinated with the Courts, as the noise affects recording equipment. This work could also be preformed before or after hours, or on a weekend. This will be negotiated with the vendors during the site visit, and when the bid is accepted.
