Separate sealed bids for Rabun County Solid Waste (Municipal Solid Waste Haul) to R&B Landfill 610 Bennett Rd Homer GA 30547. Rabun County reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. In addition, the Board of Commissioners of Rabun County reserves the right to show preference to local bidders in the purchase of supplies, equipment, and services. The preference amount shall not exceed five (5%) of the total amount of bid or quoted price or fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) whichever is less. A "local bidder" is defined as an individual or business that maintains a place of business or maintains an inventory of merchandise and/or equipment in Rabun County; is licensed by Rabun County and/or the State of Georgia (if required); and is subject to Rabun County real estate and/or personal property taxes. Any local bidder in default on payment of any County or State taxes and/or licenses shall not be able to receive preference until all taxes or licenses due are paid. Attention of all bidders is particularly called to the State of Georgia requirements. Minority and Women-Owned Business enterprises are encouraged to bid. Rabun County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in Rabun County's judgement, the best interests of Rabun County will thereby be promoted. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
