The Lake Scugog Enhancement Project is an environmental and recreational improvement project for the Port Perry Bay. The main components include: an engineered berm with a trail and pedestrian bridge; a prescribed are for suction dredging: dewatering and offsite disposal of some dredged material; and a constructed wetland using the dredged material with various habitat features. The Work consists of the supply of all labour, material, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the Work shown, or described by, or reasonably inferred from these contract documents. Without limiting the qualifications of the foregoing, the Work consists of the following: This project involves construction of a berm, suction dredging of Port Perry Bay in Lake Scugog and construction of a wetland. The work includes, but is not limited to: Fall 2023: - Completion of Environmental Management Plan to allow finalization of Parks Canada permits. Draft plan has been prepared and attached to RFT. - Site layout and installation of erosion and sediment control. - Installation of piezometers and settlement plates. - Construction of a berm as a barrier to contain the wetland. - Temporary overburden on the berm to shorten settlement time. Fall 2024: - Removal of aquatic vegetation in wetland area and dredge areas. - Completion of debris survey. - Completion of pre dredging bathymetric survey. - Suction dredging of prescribed dredge area and post dredging bathymetric survey. - Dewatering and off site disposal of dredge material from Areas 10 and 11. - Completion of the berm including pedestrian trail, fishing platforms, gravel habitat bench, vegetated buttress and tree clusters. - Construction and installation of the pedestrian bridge. - Fish and wildlife rescue. - Compaction and forming the wetland including main channel, wetland channels, hummock and pool. - Installation of wetland features including turtle nesting, basking logs, stone core meadows, wetland seeding and plantings. Spring 2025: - Completion of any outstanding seeding, planting and site restoration works.
