Project work involves build-out of approximately 4,500 square feet of vacant office space on the second floor of Muskegon City Hall at 933 Terrace Street, Muskegon, MI 49440. The space will serve two City departments - Development Services and Public Safety - in separate spaces. An earlier phase of the remodel was completed in 2020, and a portion of the current phase will physically connect with the previously completed offices. Proposals shall include pricing for demolition of select existing walls, construction of new walls containing electrical outlets, and installation of new doors following the locations and quantities specified below and on the attached floor plan. Proposals shall also include pricing for installation of new carpeting throughout the entire space, installation of new drop ceiling tiles, and new LED ceiling light fixtures. Whip connections are needed for hard-wired cubicle panels, but furniture and low-voltage wiring for phone and internet will be handled separately by other contractors in coordination with the selected contractor. 4 whip connections 10 doors with knock down doorframes 20 outlets 2 mini splits and cassettes for new conference rooms 78 LED light fixtures To ensure a consistent appearance, all products used must match those used in the previously completed offices as outlined under Product Specifications. Attention is called to the fact that the City requires that the Contractor employ local trades and laborers insofar as possible; that 14% minority and 7% female are the goals established for participation in each trade; that the Contractor must ensure employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against based upon their race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicapped condition nor veteran background; and that all pertinent regulations must be complied with. The project shall require a bid bond from each bidder in the amount of five percent (5%) of their bid. The bond will secure the bid. The bond will be released upon award of the contract by the City Commission for unsuccessful bidders and upon execution of the contract for the successful bidder. The City of Muskegon reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any informalities or irregularities in the proposals.
