SUMMARY OF WORK IN THIS CONTRACT A. The work in this contract is for a Metal Building Contractor to supply and install a preengineered metal building. B. The intent of the Owner is to assign this contract to a General Contractor, so the Metal Building Contractor will become a sub-contractor to the General Contractor. C. The Metal Building Contractor's scope of work is described here, but this is an overview and may not include specific reference to all work elements required to complete the contract. 1. Structural design stamped and signed by Washington State structural engineer. 2. Fabrication of structural members including the second floor structure. 3. Transportation to the site. 4. Erection of Metal Building 5. Provision and installation of siding, roofing, flashing and accessories. 6. Installation of Metal Building insulation. 7. Coordination of the work with other contractors. 8. The term "provide" means to furnish and install. 9. The term "install" generally means to provide and install. Bidders must be registered and licensed as required by the laws of the State of Washington. The successful Bidder and Subcontractors must hold or obtain a City of Kent business license and other required licenses and registrations. Certified check, bank cashier's check, or bid bond of 5% of the total basic bid is required to be submitted with each proposal. If both alternates are bid on, the amount must equal 5% of the higher bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any proposal, subject to the Laws of the State of Washington and the City of Kent's requirements and policies. The City of Kent is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The City ensures that disadvantaged business enterprises will have a full and fair opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, or national origin. Small, Minority, and Women-Owned firms are encouraged to submit bids. The Contract requires payment of Prevailing Wages. No proposal may be withdrawn after the time set for the opening thereof, unless the award of the Contract is delayed for a period of forty-five (45) calendar days.
