CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be examined/obtained at the Coventry Town Engineer's Office, 1675 Flat River Road, Coventry, R.I. between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. No deposit will be required, but each contractor will be limited to one set of contract documents. The documents can also be downloaded from the Town of Coventry website, www.coventryri.org. Sets may be mailed for a non-refundable $10.00 postage and handling charge. Work includes but is not limited to: relocation of gas main (RI Energy); removal and disposal of existing culverts and headwall; furnish and install of sandbag dams and new culverts, outlet control structures, regrading of inlet and outlet channels; furnish and install of rip-rap anti-scour pads; removal and disposal of accumulated sediment; furnish and install of rip-rap slopes, pavement, pavement markings; loam & seed; landscaping and necessary traffic controls (see Sheets 60-61 for Scope of Work Summary). ADDENDA AND INTERPRETATIONS. No interpretations of the meaning of the Plans, Specifications, or other pre-bid documents will be made to any bidder orally. Every request for such interpretations shall be made in writing addressed to Joseph Levesque, P.E., Town Engineer, via email at engineering@coventryri.org. To be given consideration such request must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Any and all such interpretations and any supplemental instructions will be provided in the form of written Addenda to the Contract Documents; which, if issued, will be electronically distributed by email to all prospective bidders at the respective email addresses furnished for such purposes, not later than two (2) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids. Failure of any bidder to receive any such addenda or interpretations shall not relieve such bidder from any obligation under his/her bid. All addenda so issued shall become part of the Contract Documents. BID SECURITY in the form of bid bond, certified check, Treasurer's Check or Cashier's Check in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid amount must accompany each Bid. No bidder may withdraw his/her Bid within 10 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond within 10 days of Notice of Award. Such a schedule of wages has been established on a minimum hourly basis and is on file in the Office of the State Department of Labor. The successful bidder will submit copies of certified payrolls to the Owner on a weekly basis. The Town of Coventry reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any formalities in a bid, to make awards to separate bidders, to make awards to more than one bidder or to accept that bid or bids which in the judgment of the awarding authority is in the best interest of the Town. The Bid Envelope must be clearly marked "LAKE GEORGE DRAINAGE PROJECT".
