08/15/2023 5:00 PM CT Last day to submit written questions for clarification to DPS FOR INFORMATION CONTACT: Name Christine Tondre Contract Administrator PHONE: 5512-462-6196 EMAIL: Christine.tondre@dps.texas.gov DPS is requesting bids for the Parking lot repair or replacement in the Longview area office. All Bids will be valid for 180 days after the solicitation opening date and will constitute an irrevocable response to DPS for the 180-day period. SCOPE OF WORK This section outlines the scope of work included in the project. Refer to the appropriate drawings and specification sections for further information about installation, preparation methods and components to be provided. The contractor is responsible for including all means and methods necessary to complete this portion of the project. The contract Documents, otherwise referred to as drawings, shall serve as a part of this scope of work showing more detail on the intent of this project. The Contractor is responsible for including all means and methods necessary to complete this project. In general, the work includes, but is not limited to, the following items: 1.02 QUALITY CONTROL 1. Contractor is responsible for properly disposing of all trash, or construction debris associated with this project. Removal shall not utilize TXDPS dumpster or equipment unless authorized by TXDPS. 2. TXDPS will identify an exterior staging area / entry for use by the contractor. This temporary storage must be maintained in a neat orderly manner and restored to original condition upon completion. 3. Any container used as part of this contract is subject to inspection upon being located on TXDPS property. 4. Contractor shall efficiently schedule all work to ensure work will be done in as few calendar days as possible for optimum installation to meet the manufacturer's warranty requirements. All work shall be continuous to insure the facility impact is minimal with limited disruptions. Every effort shall be made to eliminate down time and get the TXDPS operations back in service as quickly and safely as possible. The exact dates will be coordinated once the bid award is made. 5. All work will be performed by qualified craft persons with a minimum of (3) three years of experience in the field. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to provide only skilled qualified workers for this project. 6. The new work shall comply with the state and local codes and ordinances. 7. Attached contract drawings may include other trade work for reference and coordination. 1. See Contract Drawings for complete understanding of demolition and construction scope. This list is generic in nature for major items and intended only to give an overview of general project scope. 2. See Demolition sheets as required. 3. Removal all old asphalt and asphalt patch materials, to a natural and substantial base, compacted to (+/-) 98% 4. Install, and Heavy Roll, to a minimum of 2" thick final depth; Asphalt Mix as described in these documents. 5. Remove to pave; then Paint and reset all Wheel Stops. 6. Identify all H/C Parking areas with Paint and Signs per code. 7. Plan all preparation and Paving and Striping work to allow full and safe access to and around the building at all times. 8. Contractor of Award will present their intended work phasing plan for DPS approval. 9. Provide turnkey project as indicated on the drawings and as required for complete project.
