The City is seeking a qualified firm for all associated tasks in regard to dune restoration along the City of South Padre Island's shoreline. This includes, but is not limited to, permitting, surveying, design, installation, and maintenance of the restoration areas. Permitting includes coordination between the City and Texas General Land Office. The selected firm will be expected to prepare a multi-year phased approach for the project. All vegetation for this project must be fully sourced from South Padre Island. B. The City is also interested in monitoring the project to quantitate he amount of sediment that is accumulated from the project's placement of sand fencing and dune vegetation. The selected firm will need to provide tracking metrics and methodology within their proposal. Multiple methods can be utilized for volume accumulation such as deposit gauges, plant growth/health, weather patterns, dune height/width, etc. C. Proposed costs shall be estimated for all materials and labor needed to establish a 10-foot linear beachfront area, within a restoration reach of one mile. Restoration will focus on the northern two miles of the City'sshoreline, but may encompass other areas within the City limits as well as mitigation needs throughout the City's dune system. D. To best achieve consistency for the importance of coastal preservation, protection, and preventative action, the City is seeking to award a contract/agreement with an initial term of two (2) years that will become effective from the date of acceptance and approval by the City of South Padre Island. It shall remain in full force and effect with the firm's fixed contractual pricing for twelve (24) months. Upon completion of the term of the original agreement and upon mutual agreement of both parties, the original agreement may be renewed for up to three (3) additional one (1) years [five (5) yearsin total]. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
