Replacement of Structure No. W112.72B, Milepost W112.0 to W112.7, involves the construction of a new Structure No. W112.72B Ramp SWT over Berry's Creek Canal and new ramp alignment to the east of the existing ramp including column supported embankment; 763 LF retaining wall; improvement to lengthening of the deceleration lane; replacement of two Overhead Sign Structures; and the structural rehabilitation of Culvert No. W112.26, roadway, bridge and navigational lighting, and other incidental work. The new Structure No. W112.72B will be 451 feet long by 58 feet wide consisting of a three-span continuous steel superstructure, substructure includes two reinforced concrete abutments supported on h-piles and two piers located in the water supported on drilled shaft foundations. The contract includes the demolition of the existing Structure No. W112.72B; concrete deck removal and reconstruction; removal and replacement of deck joints; replacement of fascia parapet and median barriers; wingwall modifications; roadway lighting and drainage improvements; structural steel repair; splash zone repainting of structural steel; substructure membrane waterproofing; paving; pavement striping; emergency and routine repairs under cost plus compensation; maintenance and protection of traffic measures; and other miscellaneous work necessary and incidental to the completion of the project, all as described in the standard specifications, supplemental specifications, and as shown on the plans. The work is primarily located on the Westerly Roadway from Milepost W112.0 to W112.7 in the Borough of East Rutherford in Bergen County, New Jersey. Replacement of Structure No. W112.72B, Milepost W112.0 to W112.7, will begin in December of 2023 and will take approximately forty-one (41) months, including project closeout to complete.
