Duncan Hall Science building is a multi-use lab and classroom facility eight story building, including a basement with a building square footage of 306,999. Originally built in two phases, the north section was built in 1965, and the south section was built in 1969, primarily constructed from concrete. The existing mechanical systems and fire alarm system does not utilize any means of smoke control/management, addition of a smoke management system is not included in this project scope of work. The main focus of this project is to improve the fire alarm system with a new fire alarm system including increased notification and detection coverage for the entire building. Question Deadline 10/27/2023 at 4:00 PM PT. CSFM #22-N-3667-FA-NW PROVIDE NEW FIRE ALARM CONTROL PANEL AND REMOTE ANNUNCIATOR PANEL. PROVIDE NEW WIRING THROUGHOUT, PROVIDE NEW ADDRESSABLE MODULES, INITIATING AND NOTIFICATION DEVICES THROUGHOUT AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. SYSTEM SHALL BE MONITORED BY CAMPUS POLICE/DISPATCH SUPERVISING STATION. SUBMIT SHOP DRAWINGS, CATALOG CUT SHEETS AND CALCULATIONS TO THE OFFICE OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE FIRE MARSHAL FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION. The scope of work includes design and installation of new addressable emergency voice fire alarm system, all new initiating and notification devices. The existing fire alarm system will remain online during the installation of the new system, remove the existing system after the new fire alarm system has been completed, tested, and signed off by the State Fire Marshall. Construction Cost Estimate: $1,900,000.00 Service Provider shall provide the following services to SJSU. o Provide design and construction services for a new addressable fire emergency voice fire alarm system, with all new system components and materials. o Complete a final construction design package for issuance to the, Universities 3 rd party fire alarm consultant, Office of Fire life safety (OFS), Office of the State Fire Marshal (OFSM), and the campus deputy building official for a final construction permit. o The existing building fire alarm system will remain online and in service during the construction and installation of the new permitted system. Once the new fire alarm system has been fully witness tested in the presence of the State Fire Marshal, the old existing fire alarm system will be removed/demolished in its entirety, returning surfaces to match existing.
