The Buffalo Public Schools is seeking a cost proposal for all labor, information, and tools necessary for Electrical Motor Repair/Replacement Services for various (approximately 60) Buffalo Public Schools Building Sites on an as needed basis. Motors range in size from specialty fractional hp motor up to 30hp sizes. Motors will be both single & three phase. Majority of repairs will be on motors ranging in size from 1/2 hp up through 5 hp. Qualification and Experience: Contractor should be located within 10 miles of City limits to ease access for Buffalo Public Schools Tradesmen who will be dropping off some of the motors for repair. The successful bidder may also be required to pick up motors if needed. Transportation charges will not be allowed. The contractor shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in electric motor repair and rebuilding and hold all required licenses and permits. All work shall meet the requirements of the National Electrical Code of any state, municipal or other authority laws, rules, or regulations applicable to the work. The contractor shall be able to furnish an approved New York Board of Fire Underwriter's certificate of inspection of work. Where applicable, all materials and equipment shall be installed in accordance with and bear the label of approval of Underwriter's Laboratory. The contractor shall be completely responsible for their work - including any damage or breakdowns caused by their actions. The contractor agrees that the resulting contract may not be assigned, transferred, conveyed or the work subcontracted without the prior written consent of the Board of Education. Warranty: The contractor shall provide warranty as follows: 1. Parts/materials: must be new and shall be warrantied for at least 1 year. 2. Labor (on covered equipment & services): must be warrantied for at least one year for services and equipment covered by this contract including items whose cause of subsequent failure should have been identified as part of the covered services. 3. Labor (on services not covered): All corrective repairs recommended in the contract report shall be the responsibility of the BPS including repairs resulting from abuse, accident, theft, act of God, normal wear and tear of improper operation. It is understood that not all components of the system can be inspected or tested for defects without performing a tear down inspection. Repairs due to hidden defects are not covered by the contractor's warranty. Offering Specification 4. Replacement Motors: All motors deemed non-repairable shall be reassembled and returned to the Buffalo Public Schools along with new replacement motor if a new motor is ordered.
