The successful bidder shall provide a performance bond in the sum contract amount conditioned upon the faithful performance of the contract in strict conformity with the plans, specifications and conditions of the contract.The successful bidder shall provide a payment bond in the sum of the contract amount. The bond shall be for the protection of claimants who have and fulfill contracts to supply labor or materials to the prime contractor to whom the contract was awarded, or to any subcontractors, in furtherance of the work provided for in the contract, and shall be conditioned upon the prompt payment for all materials furnished or labor supplied or performed in the furtherance of the work. Amherst County reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids received. The Purchasing Director shall advise the lowest responsible bidder, in writing, that the proposed purchase exceeds available funds. The Director shall further suggest a reduction in scope for the proposed purchase and invite the lowest responsible bidder to amend its bid proposal based upon the proposed reduction in scope. Photos/sketches of all of the project areas have been provided to assist potential contractors in visualizing the scopes of the work listed below. There shall be a minimum, one-year warranty for workmanship provided for this project. Material warranties shall be as noted on the Product Warranty Sheet enclosed in this document. Regardless, the project shall be substantially complete within 90 days of Notice to Proceed with final completion 15 days thereafter.
