As of October 6,2023, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on October 17, 2023. The Board of County Commissioners of Garrett County, Maryland will accept sealed bids for the construction of a 29-gauge metal roof as specified over the existing asphalt shingled roof at the Garrett County Airport Terminal building located at 771 Airport Road, Accident, MD 21520. Question Deadline Aug 03, 2023 at 2:00 PM The work shall be carried out without affecting the normal functioning of Garrett County Airport Terminal Building, and the contractor shall provide temporary protection as required to prevent the entry of dirt, fumes, etc. into the building during the course of the work. Access to all entries and exits of the building shall be maintained at all times, except as specifically permitted otherwise by the Owner. All work shall be of the finest quality both in terms of workmanship and visual quality. The Contractor shall take extra care not to harm adjoining surfaces during the course of the work. The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials and all other necessary components to complete the roof project. Construct a 29-gauge G-Rib roof over the existing shingled roof including all appropriate trim, drip edge, vents, etc. The terminal building is single story with a roof square footage of approximately 3,500 square feet. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following tasks: 1. Install 2" x 4" pine purlins every 2' on center to insure a straight surface for metal installation. Shim as needed. 2. All drip edges shall be cut flush with existing facia boards. 3. Mechanically fasten 29-gauge G-Rib metal roofing panels. Color selection shall be made by the County after contract award. 4. All roof penetrations shall be flashed and sealed with the appropriate gaskets and sealants. Butyl tape or Butyl sealant shall be used on all joints to insure no leaks in lap joints, end joints and valleys. 5. Provide and install action snow rail over the entire roof deck 2' up from the bottom edge of the roof.
