The Town of Provincetown, the Awarding Authority, invites sealed bids for the Harbor Hill Re-Roofing project, Provincetown, MA in accordance with Contract Documents prepared by Flansburgh Architects, 77 N. Washington St., Boston, Massachusetts, 02114. The work of this Contract includes selective demolition of existing roofing, new skylights and the installation of new asphalt roof shingles and accessories. QUESTIONS: All questions shall be submitted to Flansburgh Architects, Attn: Jorge Cruz via email (jcruz@flansburgh.com). Copy Braden Witt (bwitt@provincetown-ma.gov) and Paul Millett (pcm@envpartners.com). Each General Bidder must be certified by the Department of Capital Asset Management (DCAM) for the category of work and dollar amount of this project and to be considered must submit with his or her Bid, a DCAM Certification and Update Statement indicating additional work or contracts performed or executed after the certification date. Construction Completion Dates. Substantial Completion - November 1, 2023 Final Completion - 60 days after the achieved substantial completion date Since time is of the essence and since the amount of damage and loss to the Owner which will result from the Contractor's failure to turn the Project over to the Owner by the phased completion dates specified in the Contract will be difficult or impracticable to ascertain, the Contractor shall pay to the Owner the sum of $500/day for each calendar day that the actual date of Substantial Completion of the new roof date listed above as such completion date may be extended by an approved extension of time granted pursuant to Article 6. Such moneys shall be paid as liquidated damages, not as a penalty, to cover expenses to the Owner for continuing to monitor construction and administer the construction contract during the period of the delay in completion.
