The City of Nashua is seeking bids for the 2023 Sewer Replacement Project - Contract 3, which consists of drain installation and/or replacement on Oakdale-Bryant Streets, Pinehurst-Timberline Streets, and Dickens Street. Work includes drain lines, infiltration trenches, manhole and catch basin installation and/or replacement, and other appurtenant and miscellaneous drain and roadway items of work. Liquidated damages of $1,280 for each working day will be assessed for delays beyond the established dates for substantial completion and final completion. The Contract will include sewer and drainage work in Oakdale-Bryant Streets, Pinehurst-Timberline Streets, and Dickens Street. In general, the work of this contract shall consist of drain installation and/or replacement on Oakdale-Bryant Streets, Pinehurst-Timberline Streets, and Dickens Street. Work includes drain lines, infiltration trenches, manhole and catch basin installation and/or replacement, and other appurtenant and miscellaneous drain and roadway items of work. The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to complete the work. All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans and details shown on the Contract Drawings, as specified herein, and as directed by the Engineer. The locations and approximate limits of the work are generally as shown on the Contract Drawings. The Contractor's attention is called to the fact that the limits and descriptions of work as shown on the plans and described in the specifications are approximate. The exact limits and type of work shown on the Contract Drawings shall be as directed by the City. The type of work may be modified and the limits and quantities for specific items of work may be increased or decreased at the discretion of the City. The work paid for under individual payment items and for the contract as a whole shall be the work actually performed and accepted as directed by the City. The Contractor's attention is also called to the requirement that prior to obtaining the required street opening permits from the City of Nashua, the Contractor shall have completed their obligation to submit a Progress Schedule satisfactory to the City. Construction shall not commence until the Engineer has requested the City to issue street opening permits to the Contractor and the permits are issued. A bid guarantee from each bidder equivalent to 5% of the bid prices. The "bid guarantee" must consist of a firm commitment such as a bid bond, certified check, or other negotiable instrument accompanying a bid as assurance that the bidder will, upon acceptance of the bid, execute such contractual documents as may be required within the time specified. Successful Bidder shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds, each in an amount at least equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all obligations under the Contract Documents. These Bonds shall remain in effect at least until one year after the date when final payment becomes due, except as provided otherwise by Laws and Regulations or by the Contract Documents. Successful Bidder shall also furnish such other Bonds as are required by the Contract Documents. When Successful Bidder delivers the executed agreements to the City, Successful Bidder shall also deliver to the City such Bonds as may be required to furnish.
