The following summary is a general guide to the scope of work. It should not be construed as a detailed list of work included in the contract. Camp Ripley is proposing the construction of two or four new railroad tracks extending North from Bettenburg Avenue with concrete loading ramps at the North end to facilitate loading and unloading tracked and wheeled vehicles. The scope for this project will include both civil and rail work as follows: Civil Scope oClear and Grub all trees and shrubs within the grading limits. oExecute all removals per the removal plan. oStrip topsoil within project boundaries. - Use stripped topsoil to create a berm for perimeter control. - Stockpile topsoil as required for respreading. - Excess topsoil to be stockpiled onsite. - Respread topsoil over disturbed non-gravel areas. oGrade site per the grading plans and cross sections. - Excess grading material to be stockpiled separate from topsoil onsite, but topsoiled and seed after grading is complete. Provide and install drainage pipe and structures per plans. Improve utility crossings under railroad tracks per the plans and specifications. . Place and compact Class 5 aggregate base per grading plans, typical section, and cross sections for tracks A and B. - Add 6" of gravel to existing project access road. - Place aggregate base ramp at railroad crossing panels after panel installation. Place all surfacing, curb and gutter, and pavement marking per the surfacing plan. oProvide and install chainlink fencing and gates per the plans and specifications. Provide sediment and erosion control per the SWPPP. Seed and mulch disturbed non-gravel areas. Railroad Scope Construct track, ballast, and ties per plans and specifications for tracks A and B. Construct new #11 hand thrown turnouts per plans and specifications. - Remove and dispose of existing track where new turnouts are to be installed. - Coordinate track outage with BNSF & MN Dept. of Military Affairs. Install new crossing panels
