A certified check, cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of ten per cent (10%) of the bid, but not in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), must be submitted with the bid, guaranteeing that if a contract is awarded, the bidder shall execute the contract and deliver the bond(s) required by the bid specifications. Cashier's check or certified checks shall be made payable to the Borough. The Bid Bond must be written by a surety company listed on the Federal Treasury List (Environmental Protection Agency Circular 570-Surety Companies Acceptable on Federal Bonds) as required by N.J.A.C. 7:22-3.17 (g). The Municipal Building is closed on Fridays from June 19th to September 1, 2023. Prospective bidders shall telephone at least twenty-four (24) hours or at least one (1) business day in advance to reserve a bid package. The Borough assumes responsibility only for mailing the bid package to the prospective bidder and not for proper and timely delivery of the bid specifications. All Bidders and any named subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Labor and Workforce Development pursuant to the Public Works Contractor Registration Act and must be effective as of the date of submittal of a bid, and Bidders shall submit the Public Works Contractor Registration for itself and all named subcontractors prior to the award of a contract by the Borough. Bidders shall submit copies of their New Jersey Business Registration Certificates for itself and all subcontractors prior to award of a contract by the Borough. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all of the bids or waive any informalities therein pursuant to and in accordance with applicable law.
