*This project is scheduled to be awarded Tuesday 09/05/2023.* Street reconstruction of Clyde Place & Cyril Court between Vista Avenue & Attica Street. Project utility work includes installing 1167 LF of new water main, 848 LF of sanitary sewer and 1064 LF of storm sewer. This project will also involve installation of new fire hydrants, catch basins, sewer manholes and water & sanitary services. The street surface & base will be removed and replaced along with 1631 SF of 4" sidewalk, 4109 SF of 6" walk and drive approaches, 4 accessible curb ramps and 2310 LF of curb. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the total amount bid. The City of Vandalia has a desire to award contracts involving City concerns and funded by City money, to individuals and businesses that are located within the City of Vandalia. Where a preliminary analysis of the bids identifies a bid from a Vandalia individual or business, city council may give a preference to the Vandalia bid and award the contract to the Vandalia bidder when: (i) such bid is within 5% of the lowest bid price (for a low bid of $50,000 or less) or within 2% of the lowest bid price (for a low bid price over $50,000), and (ii) but for the bid price, the Vandalia bid would otherwise be considered the lowest and best bid by the City in its normal evaluation procedures in deciding whether or not to award the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informality in any Bid. The bid will be awarded to the lowest and best bidder.
