The Work comprises, but is not limited to: construction of two (2) synthetic turf sports fields (Fields 5 & 6) and miscellaneous off site improvements. Project scope includes mobilization, demolition, construction surveying and staking, earthwork, grading, subbase and subdrain preparation for infields, connection to existing drain lines, and installation of synthetic turf fields as indicated on the construction plans and specifications. Contractor must coordinate with FieldTurf USA, Inc. (FieldTurf) for the removal of existing synthetic turf, installation of the new synthetic turf and must allow FieldTurf a minimum of six weeks to complete turf installation. The six-week installation period must be included within the total contract working days. Project Contractor must work in conjunction with Field Turf installers, and as required, provide a project timeline schedule incorporating final review and approval of aggregate base compaction, infiltration rates, survey and verification of perimeter nailer board prior to the beginning of the six-week allowance for turf installation. Pre-bid Meeting:None The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A Contractor's license at the time of submitting bids. The minimum acceptable experience shall include direct responsibility for the grading, drainage and base installation for at least six separate synthetic field turf projects (minimum of 65,000 square feet of contiguous base area per project) within the last three years, and four separate ballfield projects (minimum 2 fields). Separate projects awarded under one contract may qualify as individual projects. Failure to meet the minimum qualification will render a bidder non-responsive. 10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. It shall be mandatory, upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages as established by the City Council as they apply to the work being performed. Said prevailing rates are available from the State of California Department of Industrial Relations website. Engineer's Estimate - $680,000 (for Fields 5 & 6). Working Days - 54.
