Burnett County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Bridge Specifications: Bridge must comply with the Wisconsin DNR Bridge Guidelines for New and Replacement Snowmobile and All-Terrain Vehicle Bridges, PUB-CF-005 2017. This document can be found at the following link: http://dnr.wi.gov/files/PDF/pubs/cf/CF0005.pdf. The bridge is 42 feet long and 12 feet wide. Existing bridge deck must be removed in its entirety and disposed ofby contractor. Replacement deck shall consist oftwo layers of decking totaling not less than 3" thickness oftreated decking with a .40 treatment standard minimum. Current load capacity for the bridge is 12,000 lbs. As part ofthis project, load capacity must be increased to 25,000 lbs. based on certified engineered plans. See Wisconsin DNR Bridge Guidelines for more information on load requirements and additional supports needed to meet 25,000 lbs. New guardrails must be installed along the bridge approaches to replace existing guardrails. Guardrails must extend 10 feet from each comer ofthe bridge. A description ofthe proposed guardrail design and materials must be included with the bid. Specify all ofthe different hardware (size and gauge) that will be used for the project, as well has how many fasteners per board will be used. Contractor will be required to send engineered plans to Burnett County Forest & Parks within 60 days ofnotification ofsuccessful bid. A professional engineer qualified in structural engineering must stamp these plans. Failure to send professionally engineered plans within 60 days will be considered a contract violation and the contract will be terminated and performance bond kept for re-advertising and administration costs..
