This Request for Proposal is for the removal of one or more layers of Ceramic floor and wood base board and installing new Vinyl Plank flooring and wood base boards. This is a 4-bedroom 1 1/2-bath unit approximated 1,225 square feet of space, however it is the contractors' responsibility to take advantage of the Pre-Bid Conference to see and measure the unit for accuracy in biding. The Alachua County Housing Authority will not be held responsible for inaccurate measurements by the bidder. All trash disposal is the responsibility of the contractor; at no time shall any trash or debris be disposed of in the resident's garbage cans. The site is to be clean at all times. Details I. Remove all old Ceramic Floor - there may be more than one layer 2. Prepare concrete floor to accept new Flooring 3. Removal of all base boards 4. Undercut all door frames to accept flooring 5. Properly trim bottom of all doors to avoid rubbing against the new flooring. Make sure door is structurally sound. 6. Any damaged sheet rock is to be repaired and painted to match existing paint color 7. Install new Vinyl plank flooring throughout unit using best trade practices and manufacturers specifications including closets and laundry room. Kitchen and bathroom cabinets do not need to be removed. 8. Install new 3" wood base throughout unit and caulk to wall with white paintable caulk 9. Paint with ACH specified color "Mission White". Specified paint shall be Sherwin Williams Pro-Mar 400 semi-gloss. Please note that this for quality and design standards and any equivalent paint may be approved. It is the bidder responsibility to include any specifications for a substitute paint along with or prior to the proposal submission. Otherwise the specified paint shall be used. Any questions after this date will be required to be submitted to the Director of Maintenance noted above by Tuesday July20,2023 at 1:00 p.m. to allow time for an answer to be provided to all packet holders in addenda. Any bidder may withdraw his/her bid either personally, by written request or by telegraphic request at any time prior to the scheduled closing time of receipt of bids. NO BID shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without consent of the Board of Commissioners of the Authority. The Alachua County Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any informality in the specifications or bidding process or to cancel in whole or part this Request for Proposal if it is in the best interest of the Authority to do so. The attention of bidders is directed to the fact that the proposed work will be financed in whole or part with federal funds, and, therefore, all applicable federal statutes, rulings and regulations, including applicable prevailing wage rates shall apply to such work.
