Platte South Garage Drain Trench Repair, The Work shall be conducted in one (1) phase. B. Work to be performed continuously. Garage drain trench slab repairs shall be prioritized over garage grease pit repairs. Provide all labor and material necessary to perform the following Demo and replace concrete slab and associated steel reinforcement to the extents indicated on attached drawings and in accordance with all specifications herein. a) Expose existing concrete reinforcement in the drain trench and protect as necessary (See DWG Section 8/S-22 and Section AA); see drawings for details if the existing reinforcement has been damaged or deteriorated for repair. b) Remove all corrosion present from exposed reinforcement after demolition. c) Newly poured concrete grade must match existing (original) slab grade / slope. d) All construction joints containing fresh concrete and existing hardened concrete must be prepared in accordance with ACI 318 and ACI 301. e) Contractor shall engage an independent testing agency to test a core sample of the ready-mix concrete used in accordance with ACI 311 and 318. Testing must include 7-day and 28-day compressive strengths. Failure to meet 3000 psi concrete strength at 28-day strength test is unacceptable and the Contractor shall be responsible for all rework and cost associated with repair and rework. 2) Demo and replace drain trench bearing angles (comprised of A36 steel or better; with hot-dip galvanized coating for corrosion protection) a) Fabricate with studs / anchors matching the original / existing bearing angles. b) Hot-dip galvanize after all fabrication / welding is complete 3) Replace any saturated or deteriorated subgrade and drainage course exposed from construction. a) Fill as needed. 4) Salvage and reinstall all drain trench grates INTERPRETATION OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO BIDDING - ADDENDA. If a Bidder does not understand the meaning of any part or finds discrepancies in or omissions from any part of the Contract Documents, the Bidder may submit to the District a written request for interpretation not less than ten (10) days before date of bid opening. The District shall determine whether a request is appropriate for response and shall interpret or correct the Contract Documents by addendum only. The District shall mail or deliver a copy of each addendum to persons on record as having received the Contract Documents. The Bidder shall not rely upon any other explanations or interpretations of the Contract Documents.
