Grass Valley Road Resurfacing Project Bids shall be in no later then 9:00 a.m. Tuesday August 1, 2023. The bids will open at 9:05 a.m. on Tuesday August 1, 2023 and be awarded at 9:15 a.m. on August 2, 2023, in the Pershing County Commissioners' Room Pershing County is requesting bids for an Asphalt Resurfacing project that conforms to the following specifications: Specifications for resurfacing 2.2 miles of Grass Valley Road, equal to approximately 278,784 square feet. Pershing County is requesting bids to pulverize, compact, pave and stripe approximately 2.2 miles of Grass Valley Road with type 2 asphalt pavement. 1) All construction shall be in conformance with the latest edition of the "Standard Specification for Public Works Construction" (referred to as the orange book.) and the standard details for public works construction as published by Washoe County, unless specifically modified by these specifications and/or the Pershing County Roads Standard Specification (latest edition). 2) The portion of Grass Valley Road to be resurfaced is directly south of the Humboldt County line for 2.2 miles. The roadway shall be pulverized to a depth of (8") eight inches and no more then (12") twelve inches and recompacted to no less then 95% compaction (95% relative maximum density). The roadway shall be paved to (24") twenty-four feet wide at a depth of (4") four inches when compacted. Contractors are encouraged to visit each service area to familiarize themselves with the demographics and conditions specific to each area prior to preparing and submitting proposals. Failure to do so is at the contractor's risk.
