The Water Authority of Great Neck North is seeking to rehabilitate five (5) wells within their service area. This action is intended to maintain sufficient capacity to the service area and ensure the continued supply of potable drinking water to its citizens. These wells are currently in operation but with aging motors, pumps, and accessories. The overall intent of the project is to rehabilitate and maintain function to these five (5) existing wells through the removal and replacement of motor, discharge head, pump, column pipe, and accessories. Each proposals submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond made payable to owner in the amount of 5% of the total amount of bid. The owner reserves the right to reject or all bids waive any informalities and to accept such bid which in the opinion of the owner is in the best interests of the owner. Rehabilitation of Well Nos. 9, 12, 13, and 14, including the following: a. Removal of existing motor, discharge head, pump, column pipe, and accessories. Disposal of existing pump and column pipe. Motor shall be stored for possible rewinding and reuse and inspection of discharge head. Television video inspection of the well casing, riser, and screen. Wire brushing and bailing of accumulated debris from well casing, if necessary. Television video inspection of the well casing, riser, and screen following cleaning, if necessary. Refurbishment of discharge head. Inspection of motor and preparation of report. Repair or replacement of existing motor. Installation of new pump, column pipe, shaft, and bearings. Installation of motor. Painting of piping, as necessary. Disinfection and sampling of well. Redisinfection and sampling, if necessary, to obtain satsifactory results. Final testing of well, including but not limited to flow and vibration testing 2. Raising of sanitary seal of Well No. 9, adjusting of concrete base, infill of concrete floor, and modification of discharge connection piping. 3 Rehabilitation of Well. No. 10A, including the following: a. Removal of existing discharge head, column pipe, pump and motor, and accessories. Disposal of existing pump and column pipe. b. Evaluation of discharge head for possible reuse. c. Television video inspection of the well casing, riser, and screen. d. Wire brushing and bailing of accumulated debris from well casing, if necessary. e. Television video inspection of the well casing, riser, and screen following cleaning, if necessary. Television video inspection of well casing, rise, and sc f. Plumbness and alignment test. g. "Dummy" test to confirm whether casing alignment is suitable for conversion from submersible pump to vertical turbine pump. h. Television video inspection of the well casing, riser, and screen, following dummy test, if required. i. Installation of new pump, column pipe, shaft, and bearings. j. Painting of new piping, as necessary. k. Disinfection and sampling of well. Redisinfection and sampling, if necessary, to obtain satisfactory results. l. Final testing of well, including but not limited to flow and vibration testing
