1.1 The purpose of this invitation to tender is to invite bidders to prepare competitive bids for the removal and disposal of existing doors and supply of all materials, labour and equipment required for the replacement of exterior doors including frames at the locations listed herein. 1.2 All existing door locksets and door handles are required to be removed and reused on all new exterior doors. 1.3 All bidders are responsible for field verification of all doors size and quantities. All measurements must be verified prior to ordering products. 1.4 Repairs must be made to masonry and or siding under/adjacent to each door sill to conform to existing materials and conditions. 1.5 If awarded a Contract, the bidder will be responsible for applying and paying for all required permits, including building permits, through the City of Sault Ste. Marie. A copy of all permits shall be submitted to the Sault Ste. Marie Housing Corporation ("SSMHC" or the "Owner") prior to commencing the Work. The Bidder shall include together with the Bidder's Tender Submission Form any one of a Bid Bond from a Surety acceptable to the Owner, a certified cheque, a Bank Draft or an irrevocable Letter of Credit in favour of the Owner in an amount equivalent to 10% of the submitted Bid price including HST, valid for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of tender closing unless otherwise stipulated in the Tender Submission Form. If the Security is in the form of a Performance Bond, the document shall be retained by the Owner for a period of two (2) years from the date on which the last payment under the contract falls due, after which it will be returned to the Contractor on the Contractor's request. A Performance Bond is issued by a Surety Company acceptable to the Owner's approved form which is attached hereto and shall be in an amount equal to 50% of the Contract Price; An irrevocable letter of credit, bank draft, or certified cheque. All inquiries must be submitted in writing via email no later than Tuesday ~ July 18, 2023; by 4:00 p.m. LOCAL TIME. To permit consideration by SSMHC, bidders are encouraged to submit inquiries at an early date. Anticipated completion date: October 30, 2023 There will be no mandatory site meeting. All bidders are required to do exterior inspections and site measurements. The successful bidder will be permitted to verify and measure all door opening prior to ordering product.
