SCOPE OF WORK The scope of work for this project is to disconnect utilities from (2) autoclaves, remove (2) autoclave wall frames, install (2) new wall frames (provided by owner), and remove/reinstall a door for autoclave entry into one of the spaces. This also includes some modifications to the existing power supply to the units and also an epoxy floor patch. HEPA air filtration and exhaust grille coverings are to be provided by contractor, as well as plastic barrier and walkoff mats to keep surrounding spaces clean. Work will continue in surrounding lab spaces outside the BSL3 area. Provided by owner: All autoclave parts/pieces such as autoclave, wall frame, bioseal. No autoclave parts are provided by contractor. Removal of existing autoclaves from the space and disposal Rigging and installation of the new autoclaves into place. Final connection of utilities within 2' of unit. Any needed Stainless steel cover panels and fascia to completely cover the unit on the exposed sides. Autoclave startup and testing Contractor is responsible for providing ground penetrating radar to avoid reinforcement and utilities in or under concrete slabs and like conditions. UNC requires advance notice for all Shutdowns. There are 2 types of hot work to consider; welding/ grinding and the other is hot electrical power access. 1. A hot work permit submittal is required for the welding/ grinding scope and EHS shall be notified of event. 2. No hot work electrical access permitted at UNC. Electrical Contractor must provide a minimum of 7 day notice of a power shutdown to be coordinated with the parties impacted by the disruption in service. 3. HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing Contractors must provide a minimum 7 day Addendum #1 has been issued as of 7-26-2023. (additional documents, as part of Addendum #1 were just sent to our content team 7-31-2023 and are being processed/loaded. Please check with the bidding GC's to make sure you have complete Addendum #1 documents. *The bid list for this project may be incomplete.
