BSC Repairs The Department of Health, State Laboratories Division (SLD) is requesting a price quotation to make repairs and remove thimble connection to Biosafety Cabinets (BSC) and certify those BSCs. All work is located at the State Laboratories Facility located at 2725 Waimano Home Road, Pearl City, HI 96782. 1. SCOPE OF WORK The Hawaii Department of Health State Laboratories Division (SLD) is requesting a price quotation for the following work on Baker and Labconco BSCs: 1) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Labconco BSC serial number #190779103 A in room 3212. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Certify BSC. 2) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Labconco BSC serial number #190880371 A in room 3212. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Certify BSC. 3) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Baker BSC serial number #114422 in room 2408. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Certify BSC. 4) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Labconco BSC serial number #190575534 in room 118. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Certify BSC. 5) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Labconco BSC serial number #170542838 in room 2129. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Certify BSC. 6) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Labconco BSC serial number #170643595 in room 2322. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Certify BSC. 7) Disconnect Canopy/Thimble connection from Baker BSC serial number # 120081 in room 2313. Disconnect thimble connection from exhaust duct work. Install exhaust grill where thimble connection was removed from the buildings exhaust ductwork. Replace BSC sash and bring sash back to normal working order. Certify BSC. 8) Gas decontaminate Baker BSC serial number # 112108. Purchase, ship, and replace the Supply and Exhaust HEPA filters. Certify BSC. 9) Replace BSC sash and bring sash back to normal working order for Labconco BSC serial # 170339635B. Reseal inside of the BSC according to manufactures specifications. Certify BSC. 2. OTHER INFORMANTION AND REQUIREMENTS 1) Please see attached list for BSC information and summary of work. 2) BSC shall be certified and adjusted to the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) International Standard 49. 3) All replacement parts and materials shall be new and from the original manufacturer or specified by the manufacturer as suitable replacements. 4) All repair work shall be done in accordance with the original equipment manufacture's recommendations. 5) Replacement exhaust grilles shall be new, made of aluminum, and appropriately sized. 6) Contractor is responsible for disposal of all waste and debris generated from the work. Area around the BSCs shall be left neat and clean once work is completed. Disposal of all waste must be disposed of in a manner that is consistent with federal, state, and local laws. 3. SCHEDULE The State Laboratories Division building opened in 1995 and operates during the hours of 7:45 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday to Friday and is closed on the weekends and State holidays. Access to the location of the trash bins is from the hours of 6:30 AM to 5 PM. Compliance at the time of award and for final payment.
